A Rare Early Permian Trilobite
This is a rare one: Neogriffithides pecensis had been known from holotype only. A second finding to date comes from another site with different rock-type containing very different fossil assemblage than the type locality. The latter is a scree of mostly bioclastic grain-to-rudstones with abundant brachiopods, possibly representing near-reefal environment, while the former site is an outcrop of dense micritic limestone yielding scarce nautiloids, bellemnoids, brachipods and gastropods.
