Trace fossil, preserved on the sole of a Pennsylvanian to Early Permian loose arenite slab, exhibiting a tightly meandering, looping pattern consistent with pascichnia—a grazing trace formed by a small, deposit-feeding invertebrate.
Further observations
Such a tightly meandering trail, avoiding intersection with a previously formed part of the trail, shows that the organism was trying to explore for microbial or organic detritus as large an area as possible.
